Stephan Janssen, Founder of Devoxx discusses how Devoxx 4Kids was formed. Interviewed by Christina Aldan of LG Designs at DevoxxMA in Casablanca, Morocco in November 2015.
Stephan Janssen is a serial entrepreneur that has founded several successful organisations such as the Belgian Java User Group (BeJUG) in 1996, JCS Int. in 1998, JavaPolis/Devoxx in 2001 and Parleys.com in 2007. He has been using Java since its early releases in 1995 with experience of developing and implementing real world Java solutions in the finance and manufacturing industries. He was selected by BEA Systems as the first European (independent) BEA Technical Director. He has also been recognised by the Server Side as one of the 54 Who is Who in Enterprise Java 2004.
Sun has recognised in 2005 his efforts for the Java Community and has engaged Stephan in the Java Champion project.He has spoken at numerous Java and JUG conferences around the world and also received the JavaOne Rock Star award.
The chairman for DevoxxMA in Casablanca, Morocco is Badr El Houari. Badr is an entrepreneur and technologist with more than 9 years experience in designing, architecting and building efficient IT solutions for big IT companies. He co found the MoroccoJUG in 2009 who became an executive committee member at the Java Community Process in 2013-2014 as first oorganisation from the MEA that have joined this position since 20 years of Java. Badr is the chair of Devoxx Morocco, the first and only Devoxx chapter in MEA region. Badr is the CIO of xHub IT , a company that empower innovation and IT talents. He is a frequent speaker at local and worldwide developer conferences and have visited more than 30 countries to speak and discuss about innovation and technology. Badr is a happy father and husband.
