BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Dec. 5, 2022 – PRLog — Last week about 30 people gathered at the Historic Railroad Tunnel trail in Boulder City, Nevada for the Avery Burton Foundation’s 2nd Annual “Hike n’ Heal” event. Arana Software and RB Group sponsored the food for the event. Additionally, several other community partners showed their support such as The Chef Jeff Project, TaD? Wellness, Don’t Cheat Your Greatness, and the Asian Community Resource Center.
The annual event is an outdoor wellness and education program activity for youth in collaboration with other non-profit organizations that work with teens and adults in the Southern Nevada community. This was the 2nd hike hosted by the Avery Burton Foundation. The goal was to raise awareness for reducing the stigma around mental health. The event began with photos, a brief discussion about mental health, followed by a 4-mile hike, and a light lunch catered by Fox’s Smokehouse BBQ.
News 3 Las Vegas covered the event with an on-site camera crew. The event lasted about 3 hours, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
“Research shows that people who are active and connected to their community have improved mental wellness,” said Christina Aldan, who is sits on the board of directors for the Avery Burton Foundation. “So every year we like to invite the people of Southern Nevada to get active and join their community for a good cause.”
